PVDF tiene alta resistencia, resistencia súper química, resistencia a altas temperaturas, resistencia a los rayos UV. Además, su propiedad dieléctrica también es muy buena. Comparado con PTFE, tiene mayor dureza superficial. La capacidad de producción global de PVDF está solo al lado del PTFE en la familia de fluoropolímeros
